And Fonesca, 50, is allegedly someone who is attracting admiring glances from the Hammers owners.
It seems as though the Portuguese boss is one of three names on the West Ham short-list to replace the Scot…
Paulo Fonseca could replace David Moyes
The Telegraph reckon that the Hammers board are eyeing up a move to bring the 50-year-old Lille boss to the London Stadium. Graham Potter and Ange Postecoglou are believed to be on the East London outfit’s list as well.
Fonseca is a superb manager and is famous for once wearing the mask of Zorro to a press conference during his time as Shakhtar Donetsk manager.
Fonseca deploys a system whereby ball retention is a key component. It’s a possession based system.

During his time in charge of Shakhtar Donetsk in 2017, The Sun described him as a ‘sensational’ manager.
The 50-year-old deploys a 4-2-3-1 formation with the emphasis on attacking, creative and free-flowing play from his team.
The style of football that Paulo Fonseca deploys is on another level to what David Moyes has served us up over the past 18 months, and if the Portuguese does replace the Scot this summer, we’ll be in great shape as a club in my opinion.
Much will depend on whether Moyes is able to achieve European glory or not though. Either way, I really feel like the Scot’s time at the London Stadium should be up once this season is finished.
