Noussair Mazraoui is being targeted by both West Ham United and Manchester United this summer.
West Ham appeared to take the lead in the race to sign the Bayern Munich ace yesterday, when it was claimed that we had agreed a fee for him, and he could even sign in time to join up with the squad on their pre-season tour out in Florida, USA.
Hammers head coach Julen Lopetegui desperately needs to sign a top-class right-back this summer, in order to upgrade on Vladimir Coufal.
The 31-year-old has been a really solid performer for us over the past four years, but the time has come to make a big improvement on him.
Mazraoui certainly fits into that category – he is a full-back of the very highest order, and has proven over the past season that he is good enough to be relied upon at the elite level of the game.
I would absolutely love him at West Ham. His pace and energy levels would transform our right hand side, and he’d undoubtedly form an exceptional partnership with Jarrod Bowen.
So is the deal still on?
Noussair Mazraoui makes West Ham and Manchester United decision
The Moroccan is a top-class right-back, so it’s easy to see why Lopetegui might want him at the London Stadium.
The thought of us beating Man United to his signature is a really exciting one – he’d take us to another level as a team.

However, the situation has just been completely flipped on its head.
That’s because Mazraoui doesn’t want to join West Ham this summer, and is instead desperate to move to Manchester United, according to a report from Foot Mercato,
What a huge blow that is for the Hammers – the Bayern ace would be a stunning signing for us.
Bayern Munich fan-site Bayern & Football recently described the Morocco international as an ‘unreal player’.
The Bayern Munich right-back is an elite performer, and proved his quality during his side’s Champions League clashes with Arsenal and Real Madrid earlier this year.
He has pace in abundance, is a tenacious tackler and possesses all of the physical attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.
Manchester United beating West Ham to the signing of Noussair Mazraoui this summer would be a major setback for us.
It’s back to the drawing board for Lopetegui it seems.
