The Mainz sporting director has just broken his silence on West Ham United summer transfer target Anton Stach.

West Ham boss David Moyes is allegedly keen to bring the 24-year-old Mainz ace to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window according to Sky Deutschland.

It is suggested that Stach will cost around £10 million this summer and Liverpool and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on the defensive midfielder.

I believe that the German would be a superb addition for the Hammers this summer.

It seems as though if Moyes really wants the Mainz midfielder, the Bundesliga side will be open to selling him for the right price…

West Ham handed Anton Stach boost

The Hammers haven’t yet made an official move for the two-capped Germany International.

However, the Mainz Sporting Director has admitted that he is certainly open to the idea of moving him on.

When speaking to Sky Germany, Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel insisted that Stach is not ‘unsellable’:

“We haven’t gotten anything from the whole circus yet. No one has reported (their interest) yet. So the topic is not currently on the table. For Mainz 05 no player is unsellable. In such cases, you have to weigh the economic factors against the sporting. It also depends on what the player wants. And then you make a decision.”

I think that Stach could be a really useful addition for West Ham, especially for the quoted price of just £10 million.

Described as a ‘powerhouse’ by MSN, the Germany international has energy, stamina, and obviously power, in abundance.

In 21 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, Stach has averaged one tackle, 1.5 interceptions, one clearance and 2.8 successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).

The 24-year-old possesses absolutely every physical attribute required to be a success in the Premier League, and he’s pretty good technically as well.

However, he’s not the best passer in the world, so there will be question marks as to whether he’s actually an upgrade on Soucek.

I believe that he is in fact a lot better than the 28-year-old Czech Republic international though. And for £10 million, West Ham can’t really go wrong by signing Anton Stach.
