Karren Brady has dropped a clear hint that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou gets her vote to replace David Moyes at West Ham.

Ange Postecoglou has been winning plenty of admirers with the job he is doing at Celtic and West Ham have been linked.

There is incessant speculation over the future of David Moyes at West Ham beyond this season.

The former Celtic player said recently that he is planning to be at West Ham next term – the final year of his contract.

And this week he suggested he must wait until the Hammers secure Premier League survival before making concrete transfer plans for next season.

But while Moyes was talking about transfer planning for next season, news was breaking elsewhere that the Scot and his head of recruitment are ‘done’ at West Ham.

West Ham board confidant Sean Whetstone is claiming that the club will not be giving Moyes or Rob Newman another penny to spend after the regression this season despite a £185m spend.

West Ham will head Down Under this summer on a pre-season tour. And back in March Hammers News suggested they should look to Australia’s top managerial export Postecoglou as the man to take the Hammers to the next level.

West Ham have been linked with Postecoglou and a host of other managers as a potential replacement for Moyes.

Celtic are a massive club so West Ham may be hard pressed to convince him to leave.

But as we have seen down the years, the Premier League is a major draw for players and managers. Brendan Rodgers leaving Celtic for Leicester being a case in point.

Let’s also not forget West Ham have the London ace card, play in the second biggest stadium in the UK and in front of the fifth highest average attendance in Europe.

In light of claims this week that Moyes has lost the confidence of the West Ham board, gushing praise of Celtic boss Postecoglou from the club’s vice-chair Karren Brady understandably raises eyebrows.

Brady has dropped a clear hint that Celtic boss Postecoglou gets her vote to replace Moyes at West Ham.

In her column for The Sun, Brady has lauded Postecoglou and told fans not to be surprised if he makes a big impact in the Premier League soon.

And Brady believes the fact Celtic are ‘minor players in modern football’ could mean he is lured away down south.

“Let’s raise a glass to Celtic boss Postecoglou, don’t be surprised to see him make an impact in England…” Brady said in The Sun.

“Whether being emperor of a small kingdom is more satisfying than being president of a big one, the fact is that Celtic are minor players in modern football…

“Sky recently signed to pay Scottish football £150million-a-year from 2025, while the company’s current contract with the EFL is £119m-a-season, but is likely to be increased because there is a probable new rival.

West Ham fans will be hoping flirtation turns into a full blown love affair

“Chicken feed compared with the Premier League champions, who will earn £176m from TV money this season alone…

“Postecoglou’s feats around the world suggest he would make an impact this side of Hadrian’s Wall and, no, this is not a new defensive strategy.”

Brady also praises what Postecoglou has done on a relatively shoestring budget at Celtic.

Against the backdrop of the claims that the West Ham board are unhappy with Moyes’ transfer recruitment, it is easy to read between the lines of Brady’s comments.

Postecoglou would have the finances to really implement his vision in east London too.

Just imagine what the Celtic man could do with the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca as well as some of the club’s rising academy stars.

West Ham need a complete change this summer. And Postecoglou could be just the man to lead it.

The fact he is being publicly praised by the club’s vice-chairman should excite Hammers fans.

If this is a managerial flirtation by Brady then West Ham supporters will be hoping it turns into a full blown love affair.
