A report claims David Moyes and Rob Newman are ‘done’ at West Ham as a board confidant makes a major new claim.
Speculation has been rife that West Ham will part ways with David Moyes this summer no matter what happens.
Majority stakeholder David Sullivan has backed the Scot on several occasions when speaking to Hammers News this season.
But it seems there may be truth to recent reports from the likes of The Times that West Ham will bid Moyes farewell even if he keeps the club up and wins the Europa Conference League.
A report from 90min has made similar claims of late.
The Hammers have have been linked with a host of managers as potential replacements including Arne Slot, Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter, Vincent Kompany, Michael Carrick, Ange Postecoglu, Paulo Fonseca and Xabi Alonso.

Football Insider claim over Rice replacement shortlist sparks emphatic response
With West Ham gearing up to sell captain Declan Rice for in excess of £100m this summer, the pressure will be on how that money – and the rest of the club’s transfer budget – will be spent.
Particularly in light of West Ham’s regression despite a £185m outlay in the two transfer windows this season.
This week Football Insider’s transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke claimed Moyes and head of recruitment Rob Newman are close to handing over a shortlist to Sullivan and the board for Rice replacements.
And it seems that has sparked an emphatic response from sources close to the club overnight.
Because now a report states Moyes and Newman are ‘done’ at West Ham as a board confidant makes a major new claim.
According to Claret and Booze host Nick Killington, West Ham board confidant Sean Whetstone has revealed the club will not be giving Moyes or Newman another penny to spend.
Report: David Moyes and Rob Newman are ‘done’ at West Ham as board confidant makes major new claim
Killington claims that has set the seal on the manager’s departure at the end of the season.
The host also claims there has been a ‘handshake’ behind the scenes for Moyes to leave the club despite his public insistence that he wants to stay at West Ham next season.
“I received a call from Sean Whetstone approximately 20-25 minutes ago (at the time of recording)… as you all know I’ve been saying for some time that David Moyes is done, he’s going to be going, that’s it,” Killington said on Claret and Booze.
“He’s gone in the summer, irrespective of what happens…
“There’s a story that came out in Hammers News (reporting on Football Insider’s claims) that David Moyes has issued the board a list of targets for the rebuild in the summer that we all know is going to come.

‘We’ve never backing them with another penny’
“Now off the back of that Sean Whetstone contacted his senior source and the response was ‘we’re never backing them with another penny’.
“So David Moyes and Rob Newman are never getting another penny from the club. It’s not going to happen. They blame them entirely for what they see as a wasted £200m investment. They’re not saying that all the players are bad, but they’re saying that the money has been spent poorly, the players don’t fit into the system, it’s been an absolute mess.
“They blame all of that on David Moyes and Rob Newman. And so they should because they handed the keys to Rob Newman and David Moyes this season.
“He’s done, he’s gone.”
Whetstone is close to senior sources at West Ham so these claims have genuine credibility.
It could be that West Ham are going to change their approach to recruitment – with Mark Noble now on board – and retain Moyes and Newman.
But the report makes a salient point that scenario is highly unlikely to play out because Moyes insists on having final say on all transfers. And it would effectively render Newman’s role redundant.
