West Ham United director of football Tim Steidten has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks.
Tim Steidten took over as the new DOF at West Ham in July, but he is already a target for Liverpool, although he did recently put us at ease by suggesting that he’s already planning for the summer.
The German was responsible for bringing in the likes of Edson Alvarez, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Mohammed Kudus in the summer.
David Moyes has a good squad of players at his disposal now, and keeping Steidten around will be vital, if we are to make any kind of real progress.
It seems as though West Ham will have a good chance of doing just that, considering the fact that he’s just added his brother Moritz to his scouting team.
And now it seems as though there is a very good chance indeed that we can keep the 44-year-old at the London Stadium…
Emphatic Tim Steidten to Liverpool claim dropped by journalist
Ben Jacobs was the first journalist to break the news that Lucas Paqueta could be close to joining West Ham back in the summer of 2022.
So whatever he says carries real weight with the West Ham fans.
And Jacobs has told Give Me Sport how Steidten is in fact NOT a candidate to join Liverpool:
“Steidten, by the way, is not a candidate for Liverpool despite reports. So if he wants to leave West Ham and stay in the Premier League, he won’t be going to Anfield. At this stage, it’s kind of too early to be putting names out there.“
Wow, Jacobs is the first reporter to suggest that Steidten is in fact not even on Liverpool’s radar to come in to Anfield and take over as the new DOF.
And if that really is the case, it’s quite obviously great news for West Ham.
I think the German will remain at the London Stadium after David Moyes is moved on, and then play a key role in appointing the Scot’s replacement.
The good news for the West Ham fans right now is that Tim Steidten apparent isn’t even a target for Liverpool. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that that is indeed the case.
