With the David Moyes sack talk refusing to go away, it might not be too long before we have a new manager at West Ham United.

West Ham manager David Moyes is under real pressure right now, and it was recently claimed that the Scot is dangerously close to getting the sack.

However, Hammers News were told by a top source inside the London Stadium that those claims were in fact not true.

Since then though, a report emerged from talkSPORT claiming that whilst Moyes is unlikely to lose his job this season, the 60-year-old Hammers boss will not be offered a new deal, and will leave the club in May 2024.

West Ham’s Premier League form has been atrocious since September. We’ve taken just four points from our last seven matches, and Moyes is really feeling the heat.

We might have to wait another six months before the Scot leaves, but who would we get in to replace him?

Journalist makes Bielsa and Benitez claims as David Moyes sack talk refuses to go away

It seems as though Tim Steidten will have a key role to play, whenever Moyes is eventually moved on from his role as West Ham manager.

And it seems like names such as Marcelo Bielsa and Rafa Benitez will definitely not be on the German’s radar.

Football journalist Paul Brown told Give Me Sport that whilst Moyes’s days could be numbered, Steidten will not be going down the route of an experienced manager to replace the Scot:

“It’s really hard to know because the owners there had their favourites. Before Moyes, they were big admirers of people like Marcelo Bielsa and Rafa Benitez, but I suspect that with Tim Steidten coming in, those kind of managers would not be high on his wish list if the club was to make a change. So you’d be more likely to see West Ham trying to go for more of a younger, up-and-coming manager I think if a change is coming. But I don’t think one is imminent just yet. I think things will become clearer nearer to Christmas when the club starts making transfer plans and talking to the current manager about his contract. So I think we’ll know a little more in the coming weeks.”

That is really encouraging to hear actually. West Ham should be looking to try and embark on a new era of success under the guidance of a young and progressive manager.

Someone like Xabi Alonso or Ruben Amorim would be ideal, but those names are perhaps a little bit ambitious for us right now.

The likes of Graham Potter, Will Still and Michael Carrick are all probably more likely to come to the London Stadium.

If David Moyes does get the sack, finding the correct replacement will undoubtedly be Steidten’s most important job yet.

And according to Paul Brown’s latest claim, it seems as though we could be set to go down a very excitement route as a club.
