With Vanessa Gold selling a 10% stake of her family’s West Ham United shares, there is a buzz of excitement around the the London Stadium regarding who could come in to invest into the club.
Vanessa Gold announced earlier this week that her family would consider selling 10% of their stake in West Ham to the ‘right investor’.

Now, this is where it gets interesting. Who’s out there looking to invest in a Premier League club with enormous wealth?
One man who has been linked with a move to takeover the Hammers is Sheikh Jassim – a member of the Qatar Royal Family.

The door could well now be open for the Qatari to make a move to buy West Ham, after his Manchester United takeover attempt failed.
However, Ben Jacobs – the journalist who was first to break the news that Lucas Paqueta could sign for West Ham – has poured cold water on the Sheikh Jassim rumours…
Journalist who broke huge West Ham transfer makes Sheikh Jassim claim with Vanessa Gold selling 10% stake
Ben Jacobs took to X, formerly known as Twitter, last night to deliver his verdict on Sheikh Jassim potentially moving in to buy a stake in West Ham:
The Hammers are currently owned in the majority by David Sullivan and Daniel Kretinsky, and are valued at just over $1 billion (£820 million) by Forbes.
So that would mean that Gold’s 10% stake up for grabs could be worth around £82 million.
Unfortunately for the West Ham fans though, it seems like we’re not even on Sheikh Jassim’s radar right now.
With Vanessa Gold selling her family’s 10% stake, it would be great if someone with real ambition and genuine wealth were to invest in the Hammers.
Whether that person is actually out there remains to be seen though.
