Said Benrahma hasn’t been playing much for West Ham United recently, and it’s easy to see why now after his absolute stinker against Olympiacos.

West Ham lost 2-1 to Olympiacos in the Europa League last night. It was a shocking performance from the team in general, and Said Benrahma was one of the worst culprits.

The 28-year-old has endured a really challenging season with the Hammers, and hasn’t enjoyed himself on international duty either, after he had a physical altercation with the Algeria manager 10 days ago.

It’s clear that Benrahma has never thrived playing under David Moyes – it certainly hasn’t been a match made in heaven!

The Algerian just doesn’t do enough in the attacking third. I have defended him to the hilt over the past few years but his performance out in Athens last night was indefensible!

Clear to see why Moyes doesn’t play 28-yo anymore after stinker for West Ham vs Olympiacos

Benrahma just seems to be totally lost and devoid of any kind of confidence right now.

He had just 36 touches before he was hooked with more than half an hour still to play. The 28-year-old was dispossessed three times and had two unsuccessful touches (Who Scored).

Benrahma returned to West Ham in pre-season looking heavier than he was before and he’s definitely not as quick as he once was.

The former Brentford man is incredibly frustrating to watch because we all know how good he can be, and what he’s capable of.

I just don’t like the player that he has become, and Moyes undoubtedly has to take some of the blame for that because of the way that he has slowly driven the mercuriality out of Benny’s game.

If he is to salvage his Hammers career, he needs to work a lot harder on both his fitness and his form and actually have the courage to try and make things happen again, rather than just play it safe.

Benrahma’s performance for West Ham against Olympiacos last night was absolutely shocking. And unfortunately, that has been the norm for him this season.
