In fact, the same could be said for every single Hammers player out on that pitch yesterday.

David Moyes has huge problems on his hands at the London Stadium. His West Ham team are in very real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League.

Yesterday’s performance was a real concern. Not just the result, but the way in which we were absolutely dominated will surely make everyone stand up and take notice of just how dire our current situation is.

The Hammers could not handle Brighton, and Declan Rice has shared just how hard it was out on the pitch yesterday…

West Ham captain Declan Rice makes extremely honest admission

The Hammers skipper addressed the media after yesterday’s abomination away at Brighton.

And Rice honestly admitted that he and his teammates could get nowhere near the Seagulls, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“They have a unique way of playing and we didn’t work it out. To be out there was demoralising. To try and defend, seeing them keep the ball. I got a yellow card, could have got another one. I never want to feel like that on a football pitch. I’d never step on the pitch and allow the opposition to have more passion than me and it’s the same for the others. We’re wearing the shirt of West Ham and the one thing that matters is fighting for the badge. Maybe it didn’t look like we did as we lost 4-0 but I can assure you we tried as best as we could but we were beaten by the better team.”

The fact that Brighton’s ‘unique’ style dumfounded West Ham, Rice and Moyes shows just how far off it we are at this level.

We are in serious trouble at the moment, and the only way that we will stay up is if Moyes drastically changes the way that he approaches these games.

Declan Rice admitted that West Ham just couldn’t handle Brighton yesterday. And that was painfully obvious for everyone who watched the game to see.
