Divin Mubama has progressed through the ranks at West Ham over the past few years, and now finds himself as a regular member of the first-team squad.

West Ham teenager Divin Mubama really impressed at youth level for the club, and he’s had some memorable moments when playing for the senior side as well.

The 19-year-old Hammers striker may well get a big chance to shine over the next few weeks as well, with David Moyes unable to call upon his entire first-team attacking lineup.

Mubama became a huge fan favourite when he scored during our victorious Europa Conference League campaign (a strike that was later awarded as an own goal unfortunately), in our final group game against FCSB.

He has since gone on to score another goal in Europe, and was really unfortunate to get another strike credited as an own goal during our win against Burnley in the Premier League this season.

Mubama has been speaking about the West Ham fans and shared something that really surprised him about us…

Divin Mubama shares what shocked him about West Ham fans

The Hammers youngster has just sat down for a wide-ranging interview with the club’s official website.

And Mubama shared an observation about the West Ham United fans, when speaking to WHUFC.com:

“Celebrations like that make you want to push on. Not just now, but in my career, you just want to push on for as many trophies as you can and for moments that you’ll never forget. It did surprise me how many West Ham fans were there. I could see some of my friends when the bus was going around East London. It was mad. Everything happened so quickly, and I just want more and more. That’s the nature of football. It goes so quickly that I think it’s only at the end of your career you get to look back and reflect.”

That’s great to hear. He’s right as well – what a turnout it was from the fans after we saw our club lift their first major trophy since 1980.

The Hammers are well known for having the best support in England. We have followed our team through thick and thin over the past 44 years, without seeing us win a trophy right up until June of last year.

Divin Mubama is loved by the West Ham fans, and the feeling is clearly very much mutual.
