Declan Rice has opened up on just how much West Ham United’s poor form and position in the Premier League table is hurting him.

The Hammers are in real trouble at the moment and are sitting in 16th spot in the table, just two points clear of the drop zone.

There have at least been some signs of improvement in recent weeks. Two points from games against Newcastle and Chelsea can’t be sniffed at and the boys did the job by beating Everton.

The challenge now will be for the players to really kick on and to start performing better and better with every week that passes.

That’s something that Rice thinks he and his teammates are more than capable of doing…

Declan Rice opens up on current West Ham situation

The Hammers have taken just 20 points from 22 Premier League games so far this season. That’s quite simply not good enough.

And Rice told WHUFC.com how he is sick and tired of the current position that West Ham are in:

“I am sick and tired of looking at the table and seeing where we are. Honestly, as a player it is horrible. You are constantly worrying about other people’s results, constantly knowing you have to go out there and win; the pressure is on. We have been really unlucky with our defensive injuries, but we have adapted well, and we still believe we have enough to push up the table.”

The next four Premier League games will most likely define West Ham’s season.

The Hammers face a trip to Tottenham, a home game against Nottingham Forest, an away clash at Brighton and a home meeting with Aston Villa.

Moyes’s men have to be looking at a minimum of six points from those games, if we are to comfortably avoid relegation this season.

And if Declan Rice and his West Ham teammates play to their full potential, we will surely have no trouble finishing well clear of the bottom three this season.
