If David Moyes starts £50 million attacking duo together, West Ham will blow Nottingham Forest away

David Moyes absolutely has to start Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings through the middle for West Ham United against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

West Ham desperately need all three points against Nottingham Forest, with Moyes’s men currently sitting inside the relegation zone in the Premier League table.

Forest are still in the relegation mix as well, despite a recent upturn in form, so the game at the London Stadium on Saturday should be an absolute cracker.

Moyes certainly has the firepower needed to get West Ham out of trouble, with the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings amongst his ranks.

The Scot has already mishandled the recent arrival of Ings in my opinion, by not starting him straight away against Everton.

However, now is the ideal chance for Moyes to play the 30-year-old from the first whistle, alongside another striker who the Hammers boss seems to be incapable of getting the best out of…

Ings and Scamacca must start for West Ham vs Nottingham Forest

Danny Ings is one of the best in the Premier League when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net.

However in order to flourish, he needs to be played with a partner up top. And who better for that job than Scamacca?

The Italian is someone who also excels when playing in a two, rather than being isolated on his own up front.

I just think that the English and Italian little and large duo could be exactly what West Ham need to fire us to safety.

If Moyes is intent on playing three centre-backs, that’s fine, he can still incorporate Ings and Scamacca together up front.

The Scot can play with two wing-backs and two central midfielders and then one of Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma or Pablo Fornals slotted in behind the front two.

With Scamacca’s exceptional hold-up play and exquisite touch, he would be the perfect man to play alongside Ings, with the 30-year-old’s penchant for making runs in behind the opposition’s defence.

Ings was signed from Aston Villa in January for £15 million (Sky Sports) whilst the Italian set the Hammers back around £35 million in the summer (The Sun). That’s an awful lot of money to spend on players and then fail to play to their strengths.

West Ham have to take the game to Nottingham Forest on Saturday. A draw will quite simply not be good enough. And the best way to win the match will be to start the English and Italian strikers together, I have no doubt in my mind about that.
