Jarrod Bowen absolutely raved about one West Ham United player after our win over Brentford last night.

West Ham beat Brentford 4-2 last night, thanks to a hat-trick from Jarrod Bowen and a wonder goal from Emerson Palmieri.

Bowen, 27, lauded the Italy international after the game for his incredible strike, but it seems as though he was hugely impressed with another one of his teammates as well.

Lucas Paqueta returned from a lengthy lay-off last night, and the Brazilian unsurprisingly made us tick through the middle of the park once again.

The 26-year-old former Lyon man is so important to everything good that we do, and Bowen highlighted exactly that when speaking to reporters last night…

Jarrod Bowen raves about West Ham ace’s display vs Brentford

The Hammers forward spoke to the media after last night’s thrilling attacking performance against the Bees.

And Bowen offered huge words of praise for his teammate Lucas Paqueta, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“Having Lucas back was a real boost. You see what he does, not just with the ball but without it – he fights, the way he wins free-kicks, the way you can just tell he’s winding the opposition up, it’s massive for us.”

Bowen is absolutely spot on, Paqueta is vital to this West Ham team, and we are incredibly reliant on him.

In the Premier League this season, the Hammers have averaged 1.89 points per game when he has played, and just 0.43 ppg without him (Transfermarkt).

That is such a huge difference and it is evidence of the fact that we need to bring in someone similar to the Brazilian in order to provide competition and cover for him, if we are ever going to push for a top six finish.

Bowen spoke very highly indeed of Paqueta after West Ham beat Brentford. Let’s hope that there’s plenty more where that came from between now and the end of the season.
