West Ham United player Tomas Soucek ‘signing a new contract’ stories really are getting very silly indeed now aren’t they!

Tomas Soucek joined West Ham on a permeant £15 million deal from Slavia Prague in the summer of 2020 (Daily Mail), after enjoying a successful four-month loan spell at the London Stadium previously.

The 28-year-old Hammers midfielder was due to be out of contract in the summer of 2024, and a recent report suggested that he could join Inter Milan on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Report after report then jumped on the bandwagon, claiming that the Czech Republic international could leave the London Stadium as a free agent in just eight month’s time.

However, those in the loop regarding West Ham news will know that all of those claims had absolutely zero truth to them…

talkSPORT have claimed an ‘exclusive’ this weekend about Soucek putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal with West Ham – one that hasn’t been made public yet.

But here’s the thing…it’s really old news. We covered Soucek signing a new four-year deal right here on Hammers News, way back on September 7th of this year.

Now that famous media outlets like talkSPORT have highlighted the fact that Soucek has signed a new long-term deal, perhaps all of these other website will stop running absolutely rubbish claims about his future.

He has been much better for the Hammers this season, and has re-established himself as one of the most important players David Moyes has a his disposal at the London Stadium.

Tomas Soucek signed a new four-year deal a couple of months ago – one that could see him stay at the club until the summer of 2027. Hopefully now, we won’t hear any more misinformation about his future at West Ham…not until the January transfer window opens at least!
