A Gareth Southgate revelation about Jarrod Bowen will absolutely infuriate West Ham after his injury on England duty.
It’s fair to say there’s no love lost when it comes to how West Ham fans feel about England boss Gareth Southgate.
Hammers supporters don’t need much of an excuse to pile on the Three Lions manager.
He has consistently snubbed West Ham’s top performing players down the years.
And his refusal to give West Ham star James Ward-Prowse a place in the national squad this season has left him open to ridicule from fans, pundits and journalists alike.
Southgate angered West Ham fans again when he overlooked top scorer Jarrod Bowen for the woeful 2-0 win over Malta at the weekend.

Southgate’s Bowen revelation will infuriate West Ham
He started out of sorts Marcus Rashford ahead of Bowen. And then the Three Lions boss rubbed salt in the wound by bringing on Cole Palmer instead of the Hammers ace despite the Chelsea man only being called up to the squad as a late injury replacement.
There was disastrous news for West Ham on Sunday when it emerged Bowen is on his way home after injuring his knee in training.
Now a Southgate revelation about Bowen will absolutely infuriate West Ham after his injury on England duty.
West Ham boss David Moyes may want to look away now.

England boss makes shocking injury admission
Because Southgate has admitted that he and his staff knew Bowen was feeling a possible knee injury yet STILL allowed him to train in the next session where he made it worse, forcing him to withdraw.
“Unfortunately, Jarrod picked up an injury,” Southgate admitted in his press conference ahead of the game against North Macedonia.
“I think he felt it a little bit yesterday and then again at the end of training today.
“So we didn’t really have enough time to assess it fully and make a really accurate decision before the game.
“We felt better to leave him in England so that he can get it properly assessed. I don’t think it’s going to be anything serious, but we just didn’t have enough time, and we wouldn’t take a risk with that player.”

A penny for Moyes’ thoughts
Sorry, what? The risk was already taken and has backfired on West Ham and the player. What is this, The Dog and Duck or England for goodness sake?
Bowen is a £100m asset to West Ham who has just signed a mega money seven-year contract.
He’s the club’s top scorer and a vitally important player. Why in the world is he being permitted to train after flagging with England management he was feeling his knee?
Especially given Southgate doesn’t play him when the games come around anyway.
An utterly ludicrous situation which could have serious ramifications for West Ham – for whom Bowen has only missed two of their 137 Premier League games since joining in January 2020.
You have to wonder whether a higher profile player from one of the so-called elite clubs would have been risked in the same way.
A penny for Moyes’ thoughts.
