West Ham United are chasing the signing of Steven Bergwijn it seems, after Fabrizio Romano made a ‘top target’ claim.
Steven Bergwijn has been on the West Ham radar over the past few months, and he recently admitted that he’d be open to moving to the London Stadium.
Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his attacking ranks in the January transfer window,
Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio are all currently out injured, whilst Mohammed Kudus is away at AFCON with Ghana.
So Moyes clearly needs to being in some new additions, if we are to maintain our impressive start to the season throughout the final four months of the campaign.
And it now seems very clear that the West Ham manager has settled on his prime target this winter…

Steven Bergwijn is firmly on West Ham radar
Fabrizio Romano has told Give Me Sport that the flying Dutchman is the top target for Moyes this month, especially if Benrahma is moved on.
Romano has described Bergwijn as an ‘incredible’ player in the past and he’s not wrong. The Dutchman would be a fantastic addition to Moyes’s ranks.
Voetbal International claims that Ajax want to recoup most of the £27 million that they paid to sign him from Tottenham in 2022.
I think that signing the Netherlands international for that kind of fee should be a no-brainer for West Ham – he’d be absolutely perfect for us.
During his time with Tottenham, the 26-year-old bagged just eight goals and 10 assists in 83 games, but he’s faired far better with Ajax, with 24 goals and 10 assists to his name in just 66 outings (Transfermarkt).
West Ham target Steven Bergwijn possesses blistering pace, impressive technical ability and can play anywhere along the front-line.
And if Moyes manages to bring him to the London Stadium this winter, he will have a really dynamic and exciting group of attackers at his disposal going forward.
