Fabrizio Romano made extremely bold Tim Steidten claim, now he’s been proven 100% correct

Fabrizio Romano made a very bold claim about West Ham United director of football Tim Steidten recently.

West Ham appointed Tim Steidten as our new director of football back in July, and he has already made a big impact at the London Stadium by playing a key role in some major signings for us.

However, a recent Fabrizio Romano claim about the Hammers man certainly raised some eyebrows in and around the London Stadium.

The well-respected Italian journalist claimed that it was in fact Steidten who instigated the deal to bring Kalvin Phillips to the London Stadium, rather than David Moyes.

At the time, it seemed like a strange suggestion, given the fact that the 44-year-old German usually likes to bring in younger players, and Moyes’s penchant for proven English stars.

However, it now seems like Fab nailed it with his Steidten claim…

Fabrizio Romano nailed extremely bold Tim Steidten claim

Steidten has been speaking to Sky Germany about all things West Ham, and something he said about Kalvin Phillips has confirmed that Romano called it correctly a couple of weeks ago.

The 44-year-old told Sky Germany:

“We were looking for someone who is also a leader. We have known him for a long time. The conversations were very good. I believe it will work out well.”

Well, there you have it. Steidten clearly played a key role in bringing Phillips to the London Stadium. That really does surprise me, I thought that the deal to bring the 28-year-old to the Hammers had Moyes’s fingerprints all over it.

Fabrizio Romano obviously had his info about Tim Steidten leading the charge for Phillips absolutely spot on.

Once again, the Italian journalist has absolutely nailed it – well done Fab.
