Fabrizio Romano has just made a hugely promising claim about the upcoming January transfer window for West Ham United.
West Ham manager David Moyes desperately needs to bring a couple of top quality players through the door in the January transfer window, and Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on what could happen this winter.
The Hammers need to sign a new striker and a new left-back at the very least, with Chelsea ace Ian Maatsen believed to be one of the players on our radar.
West Ham made some brilliant signings in the summer, and Romano recently outlined how happy the board are with one of their new additions in particular – Mohammed Kudus.
However, we have to keep pushing forward. In spite of some really poor performances recently, there is still a great opportunity for us to achieve success both domestically and on the continent this season.
And Romano’s latest update ahead of the January window should fill the Hammers fans with much hope…
Fabrizio Romano provides West Ham January update
The Italian will come into his own once again when the January window opens up in just under three week’s time.
For now though, Romano has told Caught Offside about West Ham’s potential plans:
“I expect West Ham to be busy in January as they’re looking at opportunities around. Though it’s still too early to say anything about specific names. Nothing is advanced, but the owners and directors are working on it.”
Despite the fact that he didn’t name any names, that’s a hugely positive update from the well-renowned football journalist as far as I’m concerned.
If Moyes manages to get a proper centre-forward signed as well as a left-back, perhaps one who can play at right-back as well, we will be in a very strong place heading into the second half of the season.
However, the Scot will have to clear some dead wood as well, with Danny Ings, Maxwel Cornet, Pablo Fornals and Thilo Kehrer all being linked with exits this winter.
The January update from Fabrizio Romano is a very exciting one in my opinion. Let’s hope that the West Ham owners get the job done.
