West Ham United manager David Moyes is still under pressure, despite Monday’s 4-2 win over Brentford.
David Moyes has worked wonders during his spell as West Ham manager, but the brutal, harsh truth is that over the last two months, he has performed terribly in his role.
Before the Brentford game, it was claimed that a few more defeats in a row could see the 60-year-old Scot lose his job.
So now, with a run of games to come against Everton, Burnley, Aston Villa and Newcastle United in the Premier League and the Europa League last-16 tie against Freiburg, Moyes must ensure that his side don’t embark on another poor run of form.
That period will make or break our season, and if we falter badly, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Moyes was moved on.
That said, I still believe that if a change is going to be made, it will be made at the end of the season. And former Hammer Anton Ferdinand thinks he knows the perfect man to replace Moyes, if he is indeed moved on…
Ferdinand tips 46-year-old to replace Moyes as West Ham manager
The former West Ham defender was speaking with his brother Rio on on ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE‘ (February 28th, 8:20).
And Ferdinand responded when asked which manager West Ham should bring in, if Moyes is in fact moved on:
“If he was to go at the end of the season, I don’t see Eddie Howe being at Newcastle next year because they’re not going to be in the Champions League. I think they’re going to change and get somebody else, I’d take him.”
I think Eddie Howe is a great shout to be our next manager. I think it’s fairly obvious to see that he will be replaced whenever Newcastle push up to the next level.
At just 46, he’s still young and hungry enough to take on a new project, and with a rebuild needed at the London Stadium this summer, I think he’d be perfect for us.
He implements a high intensity pressing style that the Hammers fans would absolutely love, and let’s not forget, he did a very good job at Newcastle last season. A freak run of injuries has cost him and his team dearly this term.
However, that doesn’t mean that he’s not a great manager, and that he wouldn’t be the ideal man to replace David Moyes at West Ham. I genuinley think he’d be perfect for us.
