As speculation continues to swirl around David Moyes at West Ham the club’s owners have sent a clear message to supporters.

Last week it was reported David Moyes has four games to save his job at West Ham.

If that was true, the Scot did not get off to a great start – as the Hammers lost 2-0 at Forest to remain winless in 2024.

That defeat could have been another drubbing had it not been for Alphonse Areola too.

A plethora of managers – including Thomas Tuchel – have been linked as potential replacements for the Hammers boss.

There has been claim and counter claim about the situation. And a growing number of supporters are calling for change in the dugout.

Yesterday we reported on board confidant Sean Whetstone relaying a message from the club’s hierarchy to supporters. And it was claimed they feel it might be a case of ‘better the devil you know’ when it comes to Moyes.

Now the West Ham board has sent new 37-word message to fans about Moyes via a reporter.

Claret and Hugh reporter Hugh Southon is close with majority owner David Sullivan.

Southon claims his ‘main source’ has insisted Moyes is being backed to turn things around.

But the Hammers are making contingency plans for if he can’t.

“In reality we hope things improve and then decide what to do at the end of the season,” the source told Southon.

“In the meantime all balls and alternatives are in the air. We hope the manager can turn things around.”

That reads very much like a public vote of confidence ahead of the Brentford, Everton and Burnley games.

The trouble for Moyes is that Brentford are very much a bogey team for the Hammers.

So beating them is no sure thing at all. Especially with Ivan Toney up front against the hapless Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd at the back for West Ham.
