Everton face FFP charges according to a report, in news that could be a big boost for West Ham United this season.

West Ham United are currently inside the relegation zone in the Premier League table, three places and two points below Everton.

The Toffees have played two games more than West Ham though, so we’re still well in with a chance of avoiding the drop.

The fight against relegation will most likely go right down to the wire this season and whilst that’s exciting for neutrals, it’s a nightmare situation for us.

Hammers boss David Moyes has endured a terrible season in charge at the London Stadium, and many believe that he should have been sacked before the World Cup.

Meanwhile, over at Everton, there was a big change as Sean Dyche replaced Frank Lampard earlier this year.

Dyche has made a really big difference at Goodison Park but it seems as though there could be some really worrying times on the horizon for the Merseyside club…

West Ham dealt huge boost with Everton in FFP mud

According to a report from the Guardian, the Toffees have been referred to an independent commission for an alleged breach of the Premier League’s FFP rules in relation to their spending during the 2021/22 season.

Manchester City are another club who are currently under investigation for breaking the same rules, but Everton’s plight is far more interesting to us than City’s for obvious reasons!

Financial fair play rules are in place to stop clubs from spending beyond their means.

Everton had recorded losses of £371.8m over the previous three years – £265 million more than is allowed by the Premier League.

If the rules are broken, clubs can be fined or even deducted a certain amount of points, depending on the severity of the offence.

Whatever happens here should be very good news for West Ham as the relegation battle heats up.

A points deduction for Everton due to FFP breaches would obviously be great for us but even without that, the uncertainty that these investigations can create amongst the players will be hard for Dyche to deal with.

In my opinion, West Ham have more than enough about us to avoid the drop, regardless of what other teams do.

However, Everton being in the mud with financial fair play accusations can only be a good thing for the Hammers.
