Mexico beat Ghana 2-0 in the early hours of this morning, and West Ham duo Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus were both on international duty for their respective nations.
Edson Alvarez joined West Ham from Ajax in the summer for around £34 million, and he has shown once again how good he is with a superb performance whilst on international duty with Mexico.

Mohammed Kudus was another summer arrival at the London Stadium, and the Hammers star is also currently away from Rush Green with the Ghana squad.

Mexico and Ghana faced off last night and before the game, David Moyes would have been praying that neither of his two players suffer an injury.
Fortunately for West Ham, neither succumbed to any kind of knocks or niggles…
Edson Alvarez plays 73 minutes on international duty before being subbed
The Mexican was withdrawn with 17 minutes still to play during their clash with Ghana at the Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina, America.
The 25-year-old put in a top-class performance and overshadowed his Hammers teammate Kudus.
However, the 23-year-old did play the full 90 minutes for his country.

Both Alvarez and Kudus are not done with international games, however.
Mexico are set to face Germany in Philadelphia on Tuesday night Eastern time whilst Ghana face the USA in Nashville at the same time.
So once again, Moyes will be keeping his fingers crossed that Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus avoid any kind of injuries whilst on international duty.
I just can’t wait for West Ham to be back in action. Hopefully all of our players return fit from wherever they’ve been around the world. Roll on next Sunday…
