West Ham were heavily linked with a move to sign Arnaut Danjuma from Bournemouth in the summer and it seems as though we have missed a real trick.

Hammers boss David Moyes was keen to bring the 24-year-old attacker to the London Stadium according to The Sun.

The Scot ended up signing Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow instead, however.

It could be argued that Danjuma was the man we needed, however.

The 24-year-old can play anywhere across the front-line and already has experience of playing in the Premier League.

The Holland international was signed by Villarreal for just £21 million as well (Sky Sports) – more than £10 million less than the total amount we shelled out for Vlasic.

The 24-year-old has made a brilliant start to life in Spain with Villarreal.

He has bagged five goals and one assist in eight games for the La Liga side so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The pacy front-man scored for Holland on Monday night as well.

It’s early days of course, and Nikola Vlasic could still end up being a great player for West Ham.

We would be lying if we said that we’re glad West Ham didn’t sign him in the summer, however.
