David Moyes has taken a back-handed dig at the atmosphere at West Ham United’s London Stadium it seems.

West Ham moved to the London Stadium from Upton Park back in 2016, and David Moyes is currently in his second spell in charge at our Stratford home.

The Hammers have never quite made the London Stadium our home, despite the odd night here and there when it’s been bouncing.

I think the key for the West Ham fans is that we have to stop comparing London Stadium to Upton Park – it’s completely different and now we have to make a concerted effort to make it a fortress.

Far too often, it’s deadly quiet inside the ground on match-days, and that really does have to change. In my opinion, Moyes alluded to that fact in his presser last night…

The Scot addressed the media after our shambolic 2-1 Europa League defeat to Olympiacos last night.

And Moyes highlighted just how impressed he was with the atmosphere inside The Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“If anybody wanted to see what supporters can do to make results then they should come and look at it here, because their crowd were really powerful here. The crowd played a huge part tonight, they really did.”

Maybe I’m being too cynical but to me, that sounds like David Moyes is criticising the atmosphere generated by the West Ham fans inside the London Stadium.

And in fairness to him, he’s got a point. We all have to make more of an effort during the home games. However, I will caveat that by saying the onus is on Moyes and the players to produce a more attractive playing style for us to get behind.

I guess the main point is that everyone has a part to play. If West Ham are to ever make the London Stadium our home, it will be down to David Moyes, the players and the fans to make it happen.
