West Ham United manager David Moyes received huge criticism after his side’s 5-0 defeat to Fulham yesterday, and after the game he opened up on what he told his players at half-time.
David Moyes oversaw an absolute horror show from his West Ham players yesterday, and he came out after the match suggesting that hectic scheduling and player fatigue affected our performance.
The Hammers players should be ashamed of their performances at Craven Cottage yesterday, it quite simply wasn’t good enough from anyone involved.
Moyes brought a couple of his fringe players into the team yesterday in the form of Pablo Fornals and Aaron Cresswell and both of them were miles of the pace – something that is Moyes’s fault as far as I’m concerned due to his poor use of rotation throughout the season.
Yesterday’s display was the worst I have seen from a West Ham side since our 4-0 defeat away at Brighton last season.
It was an unforgivable performance from the boys, and if the first-half wasn’t bad enough, things got even worse in the second period.
So what did Moyes say to his players during the interval?

David Moyes shares what he told West Ham players at half-time
The Scot addressed the media after the Hammers’ 5-0 humiliation at the hands of Fulham yesterday afternoon.
And Moyes shared what he told his players during the half-time break, in order to try and get a tune out of them, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“I’m hugely disappointed with the manner of it. Even at half-time, I said ‘we’re not going to concede any more goals, if we’re going to lose we’re not going to lose by any more’. But what we’ve done in the end is that we did. There were bits of the second half where we got a wee bit closer to them and there were a couple of half-chances, and ultimately we conceded another couple of goals. It was really poor.”
West Ham been really bad immediately after half-time breaks this calendar year, conceding 16 goals during the 45-60 minute period of matches since January 1st before yesterday’s game.
Harry Wilson’s goal for Fulham in the 60th minute yesterday made that 17. Some of our performances this season have been totally unacceptable, and yesterday’s display was another one to add to the list.
David Moyes shared what he told the West Ham players at half-time yesterday, but it clearly didn’t work. The Scot needs to ensure that performances like the one against Fulham never happen again.
Hopefully the boys bounce back against Freiburg and Wolves respectively.
