David Moyes says something he could hear while being interviewed after the win over Tottenham Hotspur shows just how far West Ham United have come.

Moyes is fast becoming one of West Ham’s best ever managers as he spearheads a complete revolution at the London Stadium.

Having taken total control of the football side of the club on his return last January, the Scot has turned West Ham from relegation candidates to a genuine European outfit and top four challengers.

West Ham beat their bitter rivals Tottenham once again on Sunday – this time 1-0 thanks to a goal from Michail Antonio.

West Ham’s in-form number nine Antonio pounced to fire home from an Aaron Cresswell corner as Moyes’s side moved up to fourth place in the table.

Moyes lauded West Ham fans for generating another excellent atmosphere at the London Stadium.

It is a stark contrast to the toxic vibes which filled the east London air when he first arrived back at the club to replace Manuel Pellegrini.

The transformation in just 20 months is nothing short of remarkable.

But Moyes noticed something while being interviewed by West Ham’s official website which he felt showed – as much as anything else – just how far the Hammers have come.

David Moyes says something he could hear while being interviewed shows how far West Ham have come

“It was brilliant inside the stadium, it was great,” Moyes said talking about the atmosphere generated by the West Ham fans (whufc.com).

“But I think I was more pleased for the supporters that (besides all the talk of Champions League and Europe) they’re seeing a good West Ham team.

“Maybe we weren’t at our fluent best but we’ve won in midweek and we’ve done it again (today).

“I mean you can hear the supporters (Moyes nods to noise coming from the distance) outside the stadium still signing at the moment.

“So it’s all around the place, let’s hope we can keep it going.”

Fourth in the Premier League.

Flying high in the Europa League and one win away from sealing a spot in the last 16.

Academy players starring in the first team and a sense of pride and identity around West Ham again.

Moyes hasn’t worked wonders, he’s pulled off a minor miracle.

Long may it continue indeed. What a time to be a West Ham fan.
