David Moyes says key West Ham United ace came into training ‘not feeling great’ in blow ahead of Brentford clash.

West Ham face Brentford on Sunday afternoon, and David Moyes faced the media for his pre-match press conference today.

The Hammers have a few injury concerns with Gianluca Scamacca and Vladimir Coufal definitely not ready for the Bees clash, whilst Angelo Ogbonna missed our match with AZ Alkmaar last night with an illness.

West Ham are all but safe in the Premier League. However, another point is needed to pretty much guarantee our top flight status for another season at least.

Getting that away at Brentford will be a really tough task though…

And the Scot responded when asked to provide an injury update, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“I am not sure yet [if he will play on Sunday]. He has come in this morning and is not feeling great. We will have to see how he is. The sickness was a real blow for us before the Manchester City game and it has just stayed about. I am hoping Angelo will be okay but today he is not feeling okay.”

Having Ogbonna back will be crucial for West Ham.

We really don’t want to be pushing Kurt Zouma too hard after he returned from his ankle injury prematurely.

The Hammers need a result against Brentford to guarantee Premier League survival, and our hopes of doing just that will increase if the 34-year-old is fit to play.

If he is feeling ill today though, it’s unlikely that he will be 100 per cent on Sunday.
