Jarrod Bowen signed a new seven-year contract with West Ham United earlier this month, and David Moyes has delivered his verdict on the length of the deal handed to the forward.
Jarrod Bowen has come on leaps and bounds this season, and he is undoubtedly the first name on the West Ham team-sheet for David Moyes.

The 26-year-old Hammers forward has been making more runs in behind this season, and Moyes recently suggested that the winger could eventually end up as a centre-forward.

Bowen seems to have thrived after being handed added responsibility following Declan Rice’s exit from the London Stadium.
The former Hull City ace has five goals and two assists to his name in all competitions already this season (Transfermarkt).
He was rewarded for his fine form with a recall to Gareth Southgate’s England squad, and of course the new seven-year contract.
But what did Moyes make of the long-term deal?
David Moyes responds when asked why West Ham handed Jarrod Bowen seven-year contract
The Scot addressed the national media yesterday ahead of our clash with Aston Villa tomorrow afternoon.
And Moyes responded when asked about the length of the recent contract handed to Bowen, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“People are getting lengthier contracts now and that’s where it looks like football is going. I’m really pleased that we’ve got Jarrod signed up. He’s a hugely important player for us and he’s made a big impact across the Club over the last couple of seasons; not just as a player but as a person as well. I’m really pleased. He’s earned it. He has started in the lower leagues, worked his way up and at every level he’s had to show what he can do, and he’s done that.”
Listen, Bowen is absolutely vital to this West Ham team, so getting him tied down to a such a long-term deal was crucial for the Hammers.
Chelsea have been doing it recently with their new signings and it definitely seems to be the way that football is heading now, as Moyes rightly pointed out.
David Moyes is clearly delighted that Jarrod Bowen has made such a long-term commitment to West Ham, and the same can be said for the Hammers fans.
Hopefully he’ll continue to get better and better for us and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Jarrod Bowen and, of course, the club.
