It’s time for David Moyes to give Thilo Kehrer another chance and bring the West Ham United defender back in from the cold.

West Ham signed the 26-year-old from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window for around £13 million (The Sun).

Kehrer actually made a fine start to life at the London Stadium with some impressive showings during his first three or four games in a Hammers shirt.

Unfortunately for him though, he quickly fell foul of David Moyes and the West Ham fans with some truly shocking performances.

The Germany international has really struggled with poor positional sense and the rash way in which he dives into challenges.

However, Ben Johnson’s horrific form means that it very much a case of needs must. Vladimir Coufal is struggling with a heel problem, so Moyes surely has to give Kehrer another crack of the whip…

David Moyes needs to give Thilo Kehrer another chance for West Ham

The German has plenty of attributes that should, on the face of it, make him a big hit in the Premier League.

He possesses absolutely rapid pace and is very strong in the tackle. He just needs to find a way of being more cool and composed when he’s defending.

Let’s put it this way, Kehrer is a far better option than Johnson in the right-back position at the moment.

The ex-PSG ace clearly has something about him. You don’t get 24 caps for Germany if you aren’t a good player, that really is the bottom line.

I still feel as though Kehrer could be a huge hit at West Ham, with a little bit of specialised coaching and more self awareness.

David Moyes should give Thilo Kehrer another chance for West Ham. We really need someone to come in and give everyone a lift right now and in my opinion, the German could very well be that man.
