David Moyes has made a surprising Michail Antonio claim, after West Ham United beat AEK Larnaca last night.
West Ham won our UEFA Europa Conference League last-16 clash out in Cyprus 2-0 yesterday.

It was a very good result, with Antonio getting both goals for the Hammers.

The 32-year-old has been in really poor form over the past 12 months or so, but he brings so much to the team outside of scoring goals, when he’s up for it of course.
The goals last night were a huge bonus though, that’s for sure…
The 32-year-old getting a brace should be huge for his confidence, especially considering the manner that he scored them both.
David Moyes praises Michail Antonio after West Ham win
The Scot addressed the media after last night’s Conference League clash out in Cyprus.
And Moyes responded when asked about Antonio’s mightily impressive brace for the Hammers, as quoted by Football.London:

“I thought he didn’t hold the ball up well enough in the opening part of the game, but the other parts of his game tonight were important. There’s been other games where he’s held the ball up great and not got the goals. Tonight he got the goals, which were the most important thing. We kept the ball quite well, but we never penetrated, we never got behind them, never really threatened them. And it took until about 30-odd minutes before we got that opening goal. I’m glad he has, because we need that tonight. I think it will do Mick’s confidence the world of good. Getting goals this season has not been easy for him. We need him. He’s such an important player for us. And we need goals at the club. We’ve brought in Danny, and there’s competition now. Let’s hope it pushes them all on to score more goals.”
Let’s hope that Michail Antonio goes on a real run for West Ham now and fires us to safety.
When he’s on form he is pretty much unplayable, but we just haven’t seen enough of that over there past year.
His goals last night will undoubtedly give him a huge injection of confidence. And five or six goals in the Premier League between now and the end of the season could be priceless for him and the Hammers.
