David Moyes has made an admission about West Ham ace Lucas Paqueta.
West Ham United manager David Moyes brought Lucas Paqueta to the London Stadium from Lyon in the summer for around £51 million (The Times).

However, Paqueta has so far failed to make much of an impact at the London Stadium.

It must be said though, there are far more strings to Paqueta’s bow than just being a show-pony. The ex-Lyon ace isn’t afraid of getting stuck in, and that’s something that Moyes clearly didn’t expect when he signed him…
David Moyes makes Lucas Paqueta admission
The Scot addressed the media after the Hammers beat Southampton 1-0 in what was a huge win at the London Stadium yesterday.
And Moyes honestly admitted that Paqueta’s dogged tenacity has surprised him somewhat, as quoted by Football.London:

“Those Brazilians are tough tacklers aren’t they, that’s why we bought them here for. Let’s be fair, we bought Lucas Paqueta in to score goals, make goals, do lots of other things, but we’re thrilled he’s got another side to him as well which he is, he’s a really diligent, hard-working boy which we like a lot and we want him to make us more goals, score more goals. That’s the other side of the game which we are hoping for from him.”
Paqueta made 10 tackles against Southampton yesterday – more than any other West Ham player since 2013!
The Hammers are a better team when the 25-year-old plays, that’s for sure. However, that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have things that need to be improved.
David Moyes admitted that he didn’t sign Lucas Paqueta to be a ball-winner in midfield, but rather a difference maker in the final third.
Wouldn’t it be great if the Brazilian did both! Maybe that’s too much to ask, and it does seem like Paqueta is finally settling down in East London.
