The West Ham vs Manchester United Premier League clash tomorrow is a very highly anticipated one.

West Ham play host to Manchester United in the 12:30 Premier League kick-off tomorrow afternoon, and a win for the home side would see us leap-frog the visitors in the table.

Hammers boss David Moyes has received plenty of stick over the past couple of days, after his shocking team selection for Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Liverpool.

The Scot is clearly prioritising a top seven finish in the Premier League table over any kind of success in the domestic cups this season.

The majority of West Ham fans don’t agree with that policy, but it is what it is, and if we manage to beat Man United tomorrow, we’ll find ourselves in a very strong position in the league.

However, there is some bad news for the Hammers ahead of the game…

West Ham vs Manchester United referee named

Simon Hooper will officiate tomorrow’s clash at the London Stadium, as confirmed by the Premier League’s official website.

The Hammers fans will be well aware of Hooper. He was on VAR duty for our draw away at Southampton last season when we were hit with an FA charge after the game, having surrounded the referee.

This came after referee Peter Bankes inexplicably blocked Jarrod Bowen from intercepting a Southampton player immediately before they scored, and VAR official Hooper failed to intervene.

Moyes blasted the 41-year-old after the match, suggesting that he ‘should have gone to specsavers’, after the official apparently didn’t even see the incident (The Sun).

I would have preferred to have a referee for the Man United game that hadn’t made such a glaring error that affected us during one of our previous matches.

The West Ham vs Manchester United game is a vitally important one for both teams. I just wish that Simon Hooper wasn’t officiating the match.

It seems like we’ve had an awful lot of poor refereeing decisions go against us over the past couple of years, and I’m just hoping that we’re not talking about Hooper after tomorrow’s match.
