West Ham manager David Moyes will be without a couple of defenders for the Freiburg vs West Ham clash tonight.

David Moyes has taken his West Ham team out to Germany to take on Freiburg for the second Europa League fixture in Group A.

However, Freiburg will represent a completely different challenge for us tonight, there’s no doubt about that.

The Bundesliga side are no mugs, and tonight’s game will be the hardest test we have faced in Europe since our trip to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022.

Moyes will be without Michail Antonio for the game tonight, but the Scot has more injury concerns than just the striker…

David Moyes has injury problems for Freiburg vs West Ham

The Scot addressed the media last night and said Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson both have troublesome injuries.

Moyes told WHUFC.com:

“Aaron Cresswell is still recovering from his hamstring injury and Ben Johnson has a little bit of a tight groin as well.”

That will represent somewhat of a problem for Moyes.

With both Cresswell and Johnson unavailable, the Scot will be forced into starting key man Emerson Palmieri at left-back.

With a huge game against Newcastle to come in just three day’s time, that’s far from ideal. We will just have to hope that the Italian doesn’t suffer any kind of injury tonight.

The Freiburg vs West Ham game should be an absolute cracker tonight. It will represent a proper test for the Hammers and give us a real idea of where we’re truly at right now.
