David Moyes’ brother Kenny has let the cat of the bag to a board confidant over his West Ham United future.
At the end of 2023 West Ham were flying high having beaten Man United and Arsenal.
And there was a sudden clamour for manager David Moyes to be handed a new contract amid speculation he could leave in the summer when his current deal expires.
West Ham have endured a pretty dismal start to 2024, though. And it has kept the embers burning over Moyes’ future among some Hammers fans.
No wins in January so far, out of the FA Cup to a midtable Championship team, a glut of injuries to – and unavailability of – key players and no new signings have made for an unhappy new year thus far.

Moyes rubbished friends and exit claims
But West Ham remain in the top six and have qualified for the last 16 of the European football for the third successive season having won a first major trophy for 43 years six months ago.
Last month a journalist claimed sources had informed him that Moyes had told close friends – that he will leave the Hammers at the end of the campaign.
And it is also stated that work has already started in the search for Moyes’ successor.
But Moyes questioned the credibility of the report, saying he has very few close mates.

Moyes’ brother Kenny let’s cat of the bag
Since then the Scot has confirmed he is due to meet with majority owner David Sullivan at the end of the month to discuss a new contract. And reports have abound claiming he will be handed a new two-and-a-half year deal.
Well they say blood is thicker than water. And while Moyes may not have many friends, he has a brother – Kenny Moyes.

‘Believes he will’
Sean Whetstone counts David Sullivan and vice-chair Karren Brady among his contacts.
And he has posted a picture of Kenny Moyes chatting to former Hammers owner – and current minority stakeholder – Terry Brown in the director’s box at Sheffield United.
Whetstone claims Kenny revealed his brother wants to stay at West Ham beyond the summer and believes he will sign a new contract.
“David Moyes brother Kenny in the Sheffield United directors today pictured here with West Ham shareholder and former Hammers Chairman Terry Brown this afternoon,” Whetstone said.
“Kenny says his brother wants to remain West Ham manager beyond the season believes he will sign a new contract.”
