Danny Ings has just inadvertently highlighted how much the current West Ham United team lack any kind of footballing philosophy under David Moyes with his comments about Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Mikel Arteta takes his Arsenal side to East London tomorrow to take on a West Ham team who are really struggling under David Moyes.

Arsenal are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table whilst West Ham are dangerously close to the relegation zone.

The difference between the two sides this season has been like chalk and cheese. And January signing Ings has inadvertently highlighted the huge gulf in class between the two London teams…

Danny Ings’ comments will concern West Ham fans

Let’s be honest here, tomorrow’s clash with Arsenal will most likely be a painful watch.

It will be stark contrast for the Gunners fans, and Ings told WHUFC.com just how much the Gunners have impressed him this season:

“Arsenal a brilliant team. The way they play is really nice to watch. They have got a great manager. And you can see the team all buy into his philosophy.”

Ings is right – Arsenal have a clear footballing philosophy and each and every player buys into what Mikel Arteta wants from them.

You couldn’t get more different from West Ham at the moment could you!

We have absolutely no identity as a team, Moyes deploys an ancient brand of football and there are absolutely zero patterns of play when we are attacking.

The players clearly don’t buy into what the Scot wants them to do. Recent claims from someone inside the club suggested that Moyes is disliked by everybody at the club.

Whilst there is no guarantee that those claims are true, there is often no smoke without fire. In my opinion, it should be clear for everyone to see that the players just don’t buy into Moyes’s instructions.

West Ham are miles away from the levels that Arsenal are currently at, and Danny Ings highlighted exactly that with his comments on the Gunners.
