Controversial West Ham referee Felix Zwayer has been put on duty by UEFA for Manchester City’s huge Champions League clash this week.
Ahead of that first leg, fellow West Ham website KUMB reported how Zwayer was once suspended from football by the German Football Association.

Zwayer controversially sent off Aaron Cresswell on half-time and booked Moyes during a display that was widely criticised by fans, pundits and journalists.
But just a week later Zwayer has been promoted to the Champions League and will be on duty during Manchester City’s crucial quarter-final second leg at Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.
Man City hold a 1-0 lead over Atletico from the first leg.

Controversial West Ham ref put on duty for huge Man City clash by UEFA
But Diego Simeone’s side have a reputation for employing the dark arts to the extreme – much like Lyon did against West Ham at the London Stadium last week.
UEFA has announced on its official site that controversial West Ham referee Zwayer has been put on duty for the huge Manchester City Champions League clash in Madrid.
Pep Guardiola and Man City fans may find that hugely concerning given how German ref Zwayer pandered to every Lyon dive and moan from the kick-off last week.

Zwayer will be on the sidelines between Guardiola and Simeone while fellow German Daniel Siebert will officiate the Man City match.
But of course Zwayer will also be first in line to stand in for Siebert should the situation arise.
The 10-men of West Ham battled to a brave 1-1 draw at home against a Lyon side employing the dark arts blighting European football.

Man City fans – like West Ham supporters before them – may be interested to know that England star Jude Bellingham had a lot to say about Zwayer earlier this season.
