A club has ‘collapsed’ since Arsenal beat West Ham to a star David Moyes could have signed as new report makes Jakub Kiwior claim.

Arsenal came out of nowhere to complete the surprise signing of longstanding West Ham target Kiwior in the January window.

West Ham had been linked with a move to sign 22-year-old Poland centre-back Kiwior for well over a year.

Tuttosport recently claimed that Hammers boss Moyes was really keen to bring the Spezia star to the London Stadium.

When West Ham first enquired for Kiwior the price being touted in various reports was around £13 million.

Reports abound that West Ham were pontificating over the price. But Arsenal swooped to snap him up for a very reasonable £20m.

Kiwior is a serious talent and a Premier League star in the making with the Gunners.

Now his importance and quality has been highlighted by goings-on at old side Spezia.

The club has ‘collapsed’ since Arsenal beat West Ham to the star Moyes could have signed as a report makes a Kiwior claim.

Football Italia state that Spezia have gone into free fall collapse since their rock Kiwior left the club and are now in very real danger of being relegated from Serie A.

The Italian side have lost four of their five games since the West Ham target joined Arsenal, conceding 11 goals. That is 2.2 goals per game – nearly one goal more per game than they were averaging with Kiwior in the side.

The impact of Kiwior’s departure has been so great, the club even sacked their manager Luca Gotti last week.

The defender’s agent revealed Arsenal beat the likes of West Ham and a host of Italian clubs to the signing of Kiwior because they were unsure over his valuation.

Sasha Baranov says Arsenal were the only club who showed desire to ‘make a deal stick’.

While he is yet to feature for Arsenal, he is certainly impressing behind the scenes.

Reports have emerged that the defender has broken several records at London Colney including fastest short sprint, highest agility jump and standing spring record (London World).

How Moyes could do with someone like Kiwior right now after sanctioning Craig Dawson to join direct relegation rivals Wolves and with Kurt Zouma’s injury issues.

And £20m would have been a small price to pay if it helped keep West Ham in the Premier League – which is worth hundreds of millions by comparison.

But it should perhaps be no surprise given Moyes recently admitted he passed up the chance to sign Argentina’s World Cup winning striker Julian Alvarez for West Ham for just £14m before he joined for Man City.
