Arsenal come out of nowhere to close on the surprise signing of longstanding West Ham target Jakub Kiwior.
West Ham and Arsenal are at very different ends of the Premier League table right now with entirely contrasting aims this season.
The Gunners have launched something of a surprise title charge while the Hammers have found themselves in an equally shocking relegation battle.
It’s not the only surprise Arsenal are springing, though, it seems.

West Ham have been linked with a move to sign 22-year-old Poland centre-back Kiwior for quite some time now.
Last month Tuttosport claimed that Hammers boss Moyes is really keen to bring the Spezia star to the London Stadium.
With Craig Dawson set to leave, ageing Angelo Ogbonna likely in his final season, Thilo Kehrer error-prone and both Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma injury prone, West Ham are in need of a new centre-back.
When West Ham first enquired for Kiwior the price being touted in various reports was around £13 million.
The likes of AC Milan and Napoli were also said to be rivalling West Ham’s interest in the Poland defender.
Yesterday Hammers News carried reports that Borussia Dortmund had just massively upped the price of Kiwior with a big bid.

But now Arsenal have come out of nowhere to close on the surprise signing of longstanding West Ham target Kiwior.
Sky Sports are reporting that Arsenal are close to signing the player for around £20m.
The report claims the Moyes target is set to fly to the UK this weekend for a medical, with “personal terms not expected to be a problem”.
Arsenal have been looking for a left-sided central defender to provide competition for Gabriel.
West Ham have both Aguerd and Ogbonna who play that position but Moyes is looking to try and switch to a back five if he stays in the job long-term.
It seems Mikel Arteta has just got one over his mentor Moyes as Arsenal look to strengthen their push for the title.
