West Ham United appear to be inching ever closer to signing Carlos Soler on deadline day.

It was reported earlier today that Carlos Soler is itching to join West Ham before 11pm on deadline day.

Transfer deadline day is finally upon us, and West Ham have one final shot at turning a brilliant window into a sensational one by signing Carlos Soler.

Julen Lopetegui has worked wonders at the London Stadium this summer, but the West Ham head coach needs to make at least one more top quality signing, if he is to guide us to success on all fronts this season.

The Hammers fans are buzzing with excitement about what the future holds for us, and Lopetegui has insisted that he’s after even more new signings.

However, the Spaniard will have to get rid of some of the fringe players first, before he can even think about making any new signings.

And if he manages to shift the likes of Maxwel Cornet and James Ward-Prowse within the next few hours, a deal for Soler will definitely be on…

Carlos Soler en route to West Ham

Things always move fast on deadline day, and today is clearly no different.

Earlier it looked like our hopes of signing Soler were dead and buried, as we struggled to shift players on.

However, that has all changed now it seems.

According to Dharmesh Sheth, the Hammers have agreed a deal in principal to sign Carlos Soler from PSG.

The deal will be a loan, but no further information has been provided as to whether or not we have an option to sign him permanently next summer.

And he’s due to fly to London to undertake his medical this afternoon.

The Spaniard is exactly the man we need to take us to the next level.

Carlos Soler ideal for West Ham

The former Valencia star is technically brilliant, has an incredible range of passing and possesses the ability to break the lines with his wonderful vision.

It’s a huge concern for the Hammers that when Lucas Paqueta doesn’t play, we don’t possesses any kind of creativity or guile in the middle of the park.

So if Soler comes into the club, we have another great option who can not only cover for Paqueta, but play alongside the Brazilian if need be as well.

The Spain international has excelled everywhere he’s been, although he hasn’t been given enough regular game-time in Paris.

West Ham signing Carlos Soler on transfer deadline day would be the ideal outcome for all parties involved.

However, whether or not the Hammers are able to shift the deadwood first in order to free up funds to bring the 27-year-old to the London Stadium remains to be seen.

What a signing he will be if we manage to get this one over the line.
