Boss David Moyes has singled out Danny Ings, Said Benrahma and co-owner David Sullivan for praise after the West Ham win over Forest.

What a day, what a win, what a second half performance from West Ham.

The Hammers could not have put in a more contrasting second half performance to the meek surrender at the hands of bitter rivals Spurs than they did in the 4-0 romp over Forest at the London Stadium.

Ings marked his first start with two goals and it could – perhaps should – have been a full debut hat-trick after the striker missed a sitter of a header in the first half.

Declan Rice scored a beautiful curling effort from outside the box and Michail Antonio came on to end his goal drought.

This could be the win that transforms West Ham’s season and comes as Moyes was facing increasing pressure over his position.

But rather than issue any ‘I told you so’s’ or bitter responses to those doubting him, the Scot preferred to direct his praise elsewhere.

Boss Moyes singled out Ings, Benrahma and co-owner Sullivan for praise after the West Ham win over Forest.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, as covered by Football.London, Moyes offered rare praise for Benrahma while lauding Ings’ contribution and the support of Sullivan.

West Ham’s majority owner Sullivan has remained steadfast behind Moyes, telling Hammers News both before and after the World Cup break the board were “100% behind the manager” and denying reports of a falling out between the pair.

And the Hammers boss clearly appreciates it.

“The important thing is I’ve got really good backing behind the scenes,” Moyes said (Football.London).

“Sometimes you have to have good owners. At Preston North End, I had fantastic owners, I had it at Everton and I’ve had it here ever since being at West Ham…

“We need someone (like Ings) who knows the art of it (being a striker). His bits of link up play was good. I was surprised when he missed the header.

“Said did great to have the assist and make the chance. That’s the goals you want to see from centre forwards.”
