A new report claims West Ham’s top scorer Jarrod Bowen is set to miss the crucial Nottingham Forest clash but its accuracy looks questionable.
Being West Ham’s top scorer is no great achievement so far this season given the club’s pathetic tally of 19 goals – one of the worst in the top flight.
That profligacy is the root cause of all West Ham’s ills this term and the reason they find themselves in the bottom three.
The fact West Ham have one of the better defences in the Premier League is proof of that fact.
The Hammers have just one player in the Premier League’s top 50 (yes FIFTY!) goalscorers this season.

And that man is Bowen with four goals.
But doubts have been raised about the star’s availability for the relegation six-pointer with Forest at the London Stadium.
A new report claims West Ham’s top scorer Bowen is set to miss the crucial Nottingham Forest clash but the accuracy looks questionable.
Because the story on Bowen seems to be like Chinese whispers between three sites.
West Ham Zone have claimed Bowen is unlikely to feature in the must-win clash with Forest after hobbling off against Spurs and cited GiveMeSport and Football London as sources.

But there is little to suggest that is actually the case.
For a start Bowen has been captured on video and in training pictures posted on West Ham’s official channels all week and looks absolutely fine.
And given the report states “Bowen hobbled off at the end of West Ham’s loss to Chelsea last week” we can only hope the information is equally inaccurate.
Footage online this week suggests Bowen will be fine and those claims look seriously questionable.
West Ham have no natural replacement for Bowen on that side. And although he – like many others – has been nowhere near his best for most of the season, the England international is vital to West Ham’s chances of winning and staying in the Premier League.
