Emerson Palmieri has been speaking to the official West Ham United website, after our disappointing draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
West Ham left-back Emerson Palmieri has been one of the standout performers for us so far this season, and we really miss him when he doesn’t play, such is his importance to this team.
However, like almost everyone else on Sunday, he put in a fairly bland display against Palace and it was a hugely frustrating day all round for everyone involved with the club.
The Hammers really should have beaten an understrength Crystal Palace, but it was such a passive performance from pretty much everyone involved.
That said, David Moyes and the West Ham fans would have been more than happy with the performance one of our players at the London Stadium two days ago.
Mohammed Kudus was the exception to the rule on Sunday, and put in a truly top-class display – one that he was rewarded for with his sixth goal of the season.
The 23-year-old is making serious waves at the London Stadium, and Fabrizio Romano claimed yesterday that the West Ham hierarchy are delighted with the impact that he has made. Emerson is clearly a big fan of his teammate as well…
Emerson Palmieri blown away by West Ham teammate
The Italian has spoken very highly indeed of Mohammed Kudus and the Ghanaian’s ability in general.
Emerson suggested that Kudus was the best player on the pitch against Palace on Sunday, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“I think he was our best player on the pitch against Crystal Palace. Vlad put a great ball to Mo who secured another beautiful goal for us. Mo helped us a lot in the game.”
Kudus, who earns £90k-a-week at the London Stadium (Capology), has made a huge impact already at West Ham.
The 23-year-old has absolutely everything needed to succeed in the Premier League and he could go on to become one of best players over the past couple of decades, if he continues to work hard on and off the pitch.
The majority of West Ham fans will agree with Emerson Palmieri and the suggestion that Kudus was the best player on the pitch against Palace.
I want to see more from the Ghanaian now though. He’s shown us all what he’s capable of but I expect him to to reach another level entirely with us. And that is a really exciting prospect!
