An architect has showed just how amazing the London Stadium could be if West Ham can own the ground and be ambitious.

It seems the key to unlocking the true potential of West Ham lies in the club one day owning the London Stadium.

Seven years after moving to the former Olympic Stadium, the bowl-shaped arena continues to be a source of huge frustration for West Ham fans.

Many Hammers supporters were – and remain – unhappy with aspects of the stadium since the big move to Stratford in 2016.

The major bone of contention has been the distance from the stands to the pitch, huge gaps between the upper and lower tiers and the fact West Ham no longer own their home ground.

The only way West Ham can fix those issues is to one day resolve the later.

As supporters know only too well, the LLDC owns the stadium and West Ham are merely the anchor tenants.

That means co-owners David SullivanDaniel Kretinsky, the Gold family and vice-chairman Karren Brady currently have little say over certain key elements at the venue.

Take for example the ridiculous installation of a wall between the home and away supporters. It was put in by LLDC, killing any semblance of atmosphere that was generated in the ground.

There is genuine hope the Hammers could one day own the stadium themselves and be masters of their own destiny.

Indeed earlier this week a West Ham insider revealed the club is very much open to taking ownership of the ground.

Now concept pictures from an architect show just how amazing the London Stadium could be if West Ham can own the ground and be ambitious.

A Hammers supporting architect has posted eight concept images of how a redeveloped London Stadium could look.

And some of the results are stunning.

Clearly such large-scale redevelopment of the ground would be big money. So it would probably take a new owner with big ambition to realise such a vision.

But we can all dream can’t we?

You can see the images in the post below.

The argument that such changes are unfeasible does not wash. If you throw enough money at something there is always a solution.

West Ham could ground share or – like Spurs did – use Wembley while the stadium was redeveloped.

And if Real Sociedad can completely transform their former athletics stadium into a stunning football arena for just £50m then why can’t West Ham do something similar?

Kretinsky bought a castle in France for not much less earlier this season.

And Sullivan is looking to sell one of the properties in his vast portfolio for £50m.

With rumours of a potential West Ham takeover in the pipeline in the not too distant future, the pictures give hope that the London Stadium could be one of the most amazing grounds in the world.

By owning the stadium West Ham would also be able to change those awful white seats to claret and blue – as they should be. And the images show what a massive difference that would make too.

John Lennon once said: “A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.”

If West Ham can get their hands on the stadium and the owners – existing or new – show true ambition then why can’t something like the stadium in those concept pictures become a reality one day.
