Alphonse Areola was hugely complimentary about two of his West Ham United teammates after our 3-1 win over Everton yesterday.
West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola put in a man of the match performance for West Ham yesterday, and he proved once again that David Moyes should have made him our number one goalkeeper last season, if not the one before.
The three points yesterday were vitally important for the Hammers, with some huge games coming up on the horizon.
Moyes will be a very relieved man after his side secured back-to-back Premier League wins – he was under huge pressure just one week ago.
But a win over Brentford and the performances from the likes of Areola, Edson Alvarez and Tomas Soucek yesterday against the Toffees has taken so much weight off the Scot’s shoulders.

Areola praises two West Ham players after Everton win
The big Frenchman spoke to reporters after our dramatic late victory at Goodison Park yesterday afternoon.
And Areola shared just how amazing Alvarez and Soucek were against Everton, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“The goals just released all the pressure at the end of the game – it was amazing. Tomáš’ strike was amazing, and so was Edi’s right at the end, and at 3-1 I thought I had to go and enjoy the moment with the guys! It’s great to be where we are now, after a tricky few weeks. Now, we’ve got to be ready to go again because we’ve got a tough game against Freiburg on Thursday in the Europa League. These are the competitions we want to play in, and we’ll keep pushing in all our games to make sure we can keep doing that.”
Soucek’s goal was truly incredible – check out this angle of his strike. Meanwhile, Alvarez’s finish was pretty nifty as well.
However, take away both of their goals and their performances were still incredibly high level. I reckon that the Czech Republic and Mexico internationals were West Ham United’s best performers against Everton yesterday, alongside Areola himself of course.
Things are looking up for the Hammers once again. Let’s just hope that the boys can maintain their current form between now and the end of the season.
