Vladimir Coufal was absolutely superb for West Ham against Liverpool at the London Stadium tonight.

West Ham were more than a match for Liverpool at the London Stadium, in spite of the visitors absolutely dominating the ball.

Vladimir Coufal was one of the standout performers for the Hammers – in fact, I think he was the best player on the pitch for us.

What a turnaround it has been for the 30-year-old right-back over the past month or so. He seems to be completely reinvigorated and looks just like his old self.

The defender actually admitted recently that he had the chance to leave East London in the January transfer window and nearly did so.

The 36-capped Czech Republic international really struggled for West Ham over the past years or so, but it now seems like we have the old Coufal back…

The Czech defender kept Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz pretty quiet for the entirety of the game.

Coufal has always been a tenacious tackler and a superb man marker, but he kind of lost those skills over the last year.

However, the 30-year-old is back to his aggressive best. Not only did he defend brilliantly tonight but he also offered us a constant outlet in the final third down the right hand flank.

The former Slavia Prague man was solid as a rock for West Ham against Liverpool tonight. He looks fitter, stronger and more athletic than he has ever been.

The Hammers are so much better when Vladimir Coufal is playing, we really are. He’s head and shoulders above every other right-back at the club.

I’m delighted that Coufal didn’t leave the club in the winter. He has been like a man reborn of late. Long may that continue. Signed for just £4 million in 2020 (The Sun), the Czech ace has proven to be well worth that money.
