25-year-old West Ham player says he’s not focused on new contract talks

One West Ham United player has admitted that he has no idea if he’ll be at the London Stadium next season.

The West Ham player in question is currently spending this season away from the London Stadium on loan, but as things stand, he is seemingly no closer to signing a new contact.

Nathan Trott will be out of contract with the Hammers in the summer, and the 25-year-old recently suggested that he’d love to play for the West Ham senior side at some point, although he did admit that he has no idea what the future holds for him.

Trott is currently spending the season on loan with Danish outfit Vejle BK. During his stint out in Denmark, he has conceded 22 goals in 20 games for Vejle BK, keeping five clean sheets in the process (Transfermarkt).

His future at West Ham looks bleak, that goes without saying, and now he has admitted that he could actually remain with Vejle when his contract with the Hammers expires…

West Ham player makes new contract talks admission

Trott has been speaking to the media out in Denmark about what the future may hold for him.

And he admitted that he doesn’t actually know where he’ll be plying his trade next season, when speaking to Danish outlet Bold:

“I’m not focused on my contract situation with West Ham right now, that would just be a distraction, so I’ll leave that to my agent. I’ll just keep playing and then we’ll see in the summer what my options are. Of course I’ll have to talk to West Ham and look at my other options. It’s too early to say where I would like to play. I enjoy life in Vejle. The Superliga is a good league, there are many good teams and healthy competition. I wouldn’t mind staying for another season.”

David Moyes has Alphonse AreolaLukasz Fabianski and Joseph Anang as his current goalkeeping options, as well as talented youngsters Krisztian Hegyi and Jacob Knightbridge.

The harsh truth is that Trott has absolutely no future at the London Stadium, and I fully expect him to be released in the summer.

The West Ham player is 25 now, and the fact that he’s only played seven minutes of senior action for us tells its own story.
