The West Ham United squad were pictured heading out to Serbia today for our Europa League clash with Backa Topola tomorrow, and one of our talented youngsters was part of the group.
Backa Topola play host to West Ham at the TSC Arena in the match-week five Europa League Group A fixture tomorrow night.
The Hammers are currently in a very strong position, and are sitting pretty at the top of our group, so a win tomorrow and top spot will remain in our destiny.
David Moyes is expected to make plenty of changes for the game out in Serbia tomorrow, and one youngster might just be given some substantial minutes.
Dan Chesters was pictured flying out to Serbia with the senior team, and he has been training with the first-team at Rush Green recently.
West Ham youngster heads out for Europa League Backa Topola clash
Chesters was captured in two phots on the Hammers official website today, alongside the senior team who were Serbia bound.
The 21-year-old can be seen in pictures 14 and 19 posted on WHUFC.com.
The young Hammers star is a real talent, but he has only ever made two senior appearances for the club.
So maybe tomorrow night in Serbia could be his chance to shine, and really stake a claim for a place in Moyes’s first-team squad.
He has bundles of ability, but as we all know, first-team football is a massive step up from the under-21s.
I believe that Chesters is capable of making the leap up to the next level though. The young winger has pace to burn, exceptional technical ability and he plays with a really mature head, considering his tender years.
Only time will tell, but I think Chester’s definitely has what it takes to make it at the highest level. And if he gets a chance to prove himself for West Ham against Backa Topola tomorrow night it will be a big opportunity for him to show us, and more importantly Moyes, what he’s truly capable of.
