West Ham United beat Leicester City 2-0 on Thursday night, and Joe Cole offered huge praise for one player after the game.

It was actually a tough watch on Thursday night – Leicester were quite simply awful, whilst the West Ham players were incredibly professional and got the job done.

So much for the Premier League being the best in the world!

However, Joe Cole singled out one player for his ‘outstanding’ performance against Leicester.

The London Stadium was deathly quiet inside due to the fact that Leicester were so poor and there was nothing really to get excited about!

The West Ham starting XI raised some eyebrows before the game.

However, we can’t really argue with Graham Potter naming an unchanged side after beating Arsenal 1-0 away can we?

I will take the three points all day long. It was the first time this season the boys have recorded back to back wins in the league, and boy did we need that.

There weren’t actually many standout performers to choose from, but Joe Cole was hugely impressed with one Hammer.

Joe Cole lauds West Ham’s absolutely outstanding Jarrod Bowen

The former Hammer was on punditry duty for our clash with the Foxes in East London on Thursday night.

And he was majorly impressed by the performance of West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen.

Cole labelled the skipper as a real talisman for the Hammers, when speaking on TNT Sports (Thursday February 27th, 9:53pm):

Bowen, that man was absolutely outstanding, a talisman for the team.

The Hammers forward was very good for the Hammers against Leicester, but I think Aaron Cresswell and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were probably our two best players on the night.

It was a professional performance from the skipper though for sure.

What Graham Potter has said about Jarrod Bowen is scary

The Hammers head coach is clearly a huge fan of the 28-year-old former Hull City star.

Potter made a really scary prediction about Jarrod just a few days ago.

When asked about Bowen, the 49-year-old suggested that there is even more to come from Bowen:

I’m delighted for him (Bowen), and I think there’s still more to come from him, certainly in terms of goals.

He’s been brilliant to work with. We had to be patient for him to be able to come back into the team when we came in, because of his injury, but he’s our captain and he leads in a really good way.

That’s a hugely exciting prospect for Hammers fans, and a scary one for our opponents.

Jarrod Bowen has been one of West Ham’s two best players this season, alongside Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

He caught Joe Cole’s eye last night but we all know that he is capable of so much more.
