Tomas Soucek seemed to be back to somewhere near his best for West Ham United against Tottenham tonight.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been painfully out of form for quite some time now.

He has played so much football in all fairness to him and has looked really leggy.
It must be noted as well how his role has changed in order to give Declan Rice the freedom to roam more.

Soucek’s confidence was clearly rock bottom and he needed a good performance to give him a boost. That’s exactly what he got tonight…
Tomas Soucek superb for West Ham against Tottenham
When Soucek was signed for £15 million (Daily Mail) from Slavia Prague in the summer of 2020, the Hammers fans thought they’d got one of the bargains of the last decade.
He was brilliant in the 2020/21 season but regressed badly last term.
Soucek is such a lovely bloke and tries so hard that it’s actually hard to criticise him. But it’s clear to see that he just hasn’t been himself over the past six months to so.
Tonight though, he was just like the old Tomas.
The Czech Republic international scored the equaliser for West Ham against Tottenham tonight and put in his usual shift.

He made three interceptions, three tackles, two clearances and one block (Who Scored).
Soucek had 51 touches and made 37 passes and recorded an impressive completion rate of 91.9% (Who Scored).
Let’s hope that tonight gives the Hammers midfielder the confidence that he needs to go on and rediscover his best form.
Tomas Soucek was very good for West Ham against Tottenham tonight. And that was great to see.
